Damien Rice has announced plans for a short UK tour. The singer-songwriter will play three shows this summer, starting at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall on June 9, then visiting Manchester Albert Hall on June 11, before finishing up at the Royal Hospital Chelsea’s central courtyard on June 13, which will be his only London show of the summer. Tickets go on general sale at 9am on Friday (February 27).
Last year Rice released ‘My Favourite Faded Fantasy’ and followed it up with a sold-out, one-off show at London’s Palladium. Produced by Rick Rubin, ‘My Favourite Faded Fantasy’ marked a return to studio recording for Rice after an eight-year hiatus.
“Sometimes you have to step away from what you love in order to learn how to love it again,” Rice previously commented in a statement. “For some reason I just had a feeling that I would feel comfortable being open and being me and being vulnerable with Rick.”
