Muse has canceled a concert in Istanbul, Turkey, following the country’s coup attempt over the weekend.

The band posted an announcement to its Twitter account on Tuesday (July 19) calling off the July 26 show. They are offering a full refund for all tickets.
“We regret that in light of recent capricious events in Turkey, we have decided to cancel our concert which was scheduled to take place on July 26th…. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. We look forward to seeing our Turkish fans in the future,” it stated.

On Friday, a coup was attempted in Turkey by a faction within the Turkish Armed Forces to overthrow president Recep Tayyip Erdogan but ultimately failed. Now a crackdown is underway in the country, with thousands arrested and more suspended or fired from government jobs as a response to the uprising.
