Amy’s Yard – The Sessions: Volume 1 will feature 10 tracks recorded in Amy’s own studio by members of Amy’s Yard, a mentoring project for talented 18-25 year old Londoners.
It’s due to be released on 18 September, four days after what would have been Amy’s 32nd birthday. She died of alcohol poisoning in July 2011 at the age of 27.
Darcus Beese, President of Island Records, said: “It’s really gratifying to know that Amy continues to influence and inspire young people through her life and music. It’s an honour for Island Records to help these emerging talents get their music heard.”
The album also celebrates the fourth anniversary of the Amy Winehouse Foundation, set up two months after her death, which aims to prevent drug and alcohol misuse in young people.
